WITNESS
You are a Witness.
Not a bystander. Not a spectator. You stood in the room while the blade was drawn. You watched the severance. You held your breath and didn’t flinch.
A Witness does not justify. A Witness does not apologize. A Witness sees things exactly as they are and calls them by their true names.
You did not look away. You did not cover your eyes when comfort begged for a lie. You chose clarity. You chose reality. You chose to face what others pretend isn’t there.
They told you it was cruel to walk away. You knew it was cruel to stay.
You saw the imbalance. You saw the entitlement. You saw yourself shrinking just to fit inside someone else's comfort. And you didn’t rationalize it. You didn’t give it a nicer name. You named it distortion, and you walked out.
A Witness is not hardened. A Witness is not numb. A Witness is alive enough to feel and strong enough to endure.
You remember what it felt like. To hesitate. To hold on longer than you should have. You carry the memory, but not the weight.
You saw it. You lived it. And you let it go.
Now, you Watch. You Notice. You Discern.
Because when it comes again — and it will — you’ll recognize it before it takes root.
You are a Witness. That is why you are never fooled twice.
